Help needed!

Err, this is an old (quite disturbing) doodle I found that I did in Paint.NET in its day.

I absolutely love snailmail! It is so amazing! It is almost as good as lights, or as lights in different colours. But yes. You people need to help me out some, and I mean it this time. I need a good concept for my NaNoWriMo in November (and I am totally planning ahead, as usual - even though it has helped me SQWAT! before) But there you go. I am a person of irreversible bad habits, like craving sugar first thing in the morning, always cross the road looking both ways (even though I KNOW it's a one way street). But there you go, again. I can't help myself.

I just better never start smoking. Sorry, I'll stop raving -- now, to the point. Yes! I need a concept, ladies. That's what I'm saying. I am usually never stripped for ideas, I have a couple on hold, but none that seem deep enough if you get me. It has to be a 50 000 word-proof idea. And that proves easier said than done. Every year. It has to be novel material, and I guess that shouldn't be all that hard *cough*TWILIGHT*cough* but at the same time we can't all write swooning romantic vampire novels. I guess that would make us all senile.

So yes. I'm happy to take ANY idea, please. Be it funny, sad, fantastic - yes, or even romantic, if we have to. And usually, the more psychedelic the better. It is easier that way. Please you guys, I really could use some input if you hear me, and it can't be more True Blood, because we all know where that'll take me *cough*. Yes.

NaNo - update!

I'm getting there!
You can follow my profile on http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/158878

Please give a listen to Bombay Bicycle Club. In particular their track "Always Like This".
His voice appears annoying at first, but I like it!

Lovely!

Redy, set - GO!

It's the first of November today, and I have now cuddled up in the sofa with a nice blanket and my trusted laptop for some serious, ridiculous NaNoWriMo-writing. I have absolutely no flippin clue what to write, but it'll probably work out. It usually does!

If there's anything you think I should incorporate in my novel - bring it on!
All dares are welcome!

Surprise me.

Oh, and wish me luck!

Keep dreaming of the dogs

I miss the dogs soo bad. How people can live without them at all.

IIh, and my jaw hurts so bad! It even hurts to talk and eat, my two favourite things! It's that darn tooth growing through my gums, I can see why babies have a strong need to inform everyone about their pain. Uaah!

But anyway, that doesn't really matter, a bit of warm water and some wok sorts it out for a bit. And anyway I don't really have the time to think of teeth when NaNoWriMo starts on monday and I still have no clue what to write about. To save time and energy I might have to take one of my previous stories and just rewrite it. But how dull is that? Any ideas? Sci-fi was excellent fun last year, but I don't really think it is my genre as I had to research a lot - and seeing it's NaNo - there's no time to! Anybody else joining this year? 30 days of literary abandon? It is magical, I'm freaking out and looking forward to it at the same time.

OOooh, and on friday it's Halloween, what'cha all going to dress up as? I dreamt I had the best idea ever and I was so relieved, but I've forgotten what it was so I'm back to square one again. Iih. But we have a party to see to on Friday and we definitely have to go out on Saturday as well, I love dressing up - Halloween is like my second Christmas!

And Sigrid is coming home from Singapore for a brief encounter (read: brunch) at my mums place on Saturday - whiii! And on Sunday I'm going to do absolutely nothing. Maybe I'll go for a walk up to the church, it's lovely there, all the autumn colours, and then go vegetate in our sofa with a blanket and just relax for once. Odds are - it wont happen. Not a chance. But I don't really mind, we can rest in the grave!

Look at Ulla, look how small she is! My, has she grown fast!

Hate each other!

A sunny day from the bus to work.

Mr. Snorky is still mumbling and grunting comfortably in his duvet and it made me realize something that it appears a lot of people have trouble with. I've just joyfully scrambled through the NaNoWriMo forums and I'm left with so much inspiration I definitely have to pop some new ideas into this weeks school assignment. It was getting a little dry and realistic anyway - I might be losing my touch.

Oh you should really see him sleep. It is the most heartbreaking thing - because, as he's lying there snoring sporadically and having the time of his life, you sit there knowing it has to end at some point. The poor thing!

And I guess that really takes me back to where this post started, though I will just say this immediately first - I have only lived together with my boyfriend for 20 days, which means, in a way - I am by no means qualified to make such a statement as the one I am about to utter. I've read some depressing things on relationships, and, prior to my "stunt" of moving out - these theories, this good advice on how I am doing such a big mistake occurred ever so often. I can't say it didn't tear me down like a sandcastle, but it was so unfair - as the decision had already been made and I should've been given support instead of hassle. At least that is my opinion - okay "I'm screwing up", but let's make the best of it!

I can be a really moody person it appears. Without realizing I have set the bar as I crawl out of bed in the morning to be this or that. Happy or sad. Joyful or unpleasant. And this must be a dreadful thing to witness, I think so, even I, in the eye of the storm, I can see how horrible it must be. But that doesn't help the least bit apparently. However what does help is how effortless this relationship works. If there's something bothering us we say so right away. We have our hiccups but in the end I fail to understand how people manage to distance themselves so much from each other. If you're simply being nice and not being lazy - that means you've both tried, and you can't be bitter. Besides, it's exra good if you neutralize each others mood and laugh at things.

Whenever someone asks: "Will you please do me a favour?" You'll answer "yes" without even knowing what it is because you'll always be delighted to help others. If you can't help them, well at least you entered the situation with a positive attitude. And when you help others out they will help you when you need it. It couldn't be more of a win-win situation. I really have trouble understanding what the problem seems to be. I might kick myself for saying these things in the future, but my experience so far has made me curious on how people must behave towards each other to hate each other so much. How do you do it? I think it requires a lot more effort to be spiteful than to just be a pleasant person. Fight, for God's sake, get it out. But what's left after the battle better be two people ready to give it all to make it work. Well, if not - I guess you deserve each other.

ice ice ice

It's so slippery outside. I'm sliding around like a ragdoll.

I'm hungry and I want to eat something. Like lefse, namnam. All my muscles are sore from yesterday, because I was working out. I'm writing on AGXH-3 again (my NaNoWriMo from 2008) and it's working out quite well I think, I hope. I introduced a new character, the character Steven, a female space-poodle. Actually I was inspired by my stepdad. It was his idea to give a male name to a female animal. I don't know why I think that's so funny, but for some reason it really is.

Does It Offend You, Yeah?

Today I made the delightful discovery of Does It Offend You, Yeah? It's like a fresh breath into my musicworld at the time! It's like Klaxons meeting a Daft Punk/Justice fusion mixed with Melody Club or something, yeah - with a whiff of Gorillaz I think it is? Sounds offensive? Sounds great! My favourites so far are Epic Last Song and Being Bad Feels Really Good. But I mean Attack of The 60ft Lesbian Octupus is obviously awesome, and what is so weird is that the title really goes excellent with the song!

In other news I'm desperately trying to write my NaNovel even though it's pointless because I don't really have the time to. But right now I'm fussing about it and it takes my mind of other things I'd rather not think about, so it's like therapy. The story is becoming quite interesting actually, or I think it is at least.

The cast consists of a homocidal chick named Captain Lya Holotata, her chef Flatch, a kidnapped ex-slave/ex-soldier named Pent, a mystical messanger in shades named Vauce that smokes all the time, a man that shifts from being duck to being man, named Duckman. And then there is a mysterious spaceshipwreck and a lot of food and a piece of italian cake that needs to be delivered before the Happy Glow Festival. There is also a robot in the branch of public transport willing to cross universes to give back the proper amount of change.

It's stupid but it all makes sense, because it's NaNoWriMo and everybody's doing it and nobody really cares what anyone else is writing about because they all just want to talk about their own novel - like I'm doing now. And that makes sense too, because it takes my mind off things, but then it kind of stays there - in the novel, still. 16 094 words and counting. You may follow me here if you have nothing better to do. (Forgive the long post, it's NaNo-Syndrome).

Circulation of the blood

I have been told that I totally fail at putting clothes on. A person I consider a friend, or - something along the lines of friend even made a remark on it. It's not that I'm any better at taking them off (ha. ha.) it just seems I had to have been asleep when everyone else learnt how to put their clothes on in an intelligent way. I'm however convinced that I'm better at it than the average person with a retardation, but then they are probably a lot better at a lot of things I also suck at.

I don't know why I'm blogging about this. But I'm trying to write a NaNovel originally, and so I did a handstand to get some blood to my headbrain (seeing otherwise I'm just sitting on my behind, and it doesn't exactly encourage any circulation). And then I went back to the computer, and now I'm writing this. Ehm yeah, you can make whatever you want of that. Maybe I got a concussion.

On the other hand, too much blood might have given me a concussion.

(got it?)

NaNo Help!

Our friend Mikee took this picture at Ibiza, these poor brits had collapsed in the sun, probably a little drugged or drunk or hungover or something. At least they don't look too well. I've been laughing at this picture on facebook for ages, so I thought I'd share it with the outside world. Like, outside facebook. Whatever world that is.

Today the weather's been exceptionally grim, and there isn't much beauty left in the rotting leaves either. Well it's still nice colours and stuff, but now it is turning a lot more -- brown. If you know what I mean..

Well to the point, I'd be extremely grateful for any NaNoWriMo ideas. Because it'll start in November, but because of all the assignments we get after each lecture, and our massive group-exam - I really need to get a headstart I'm afraid. It sucks a little, but then I'd still be writing a NaNo, it is just that because of the circumstances I have to start up a little earlier.

Javajava

You better like the Java! Because I'm stuck with it!

It actually makes me shiver a little. It is confusing and logical at the same time. And at the moment it's hard to understand anything at all - so hopefully I'll be able to start understanding Java, instead of just accepting it for being what it is.

Nonetheless, it's nice to learn new things. Also received an uplifting email from my sister, Sigrid - who is currently studying in Lisbon. I am so glad she is well, even though I envy her loads.
If you have any idea on what I should be writing for this years' NaNoWriMo I'd be very grateful. Because I'm going to have to do some brainstorming for a headstart because of all my exams and the hand-ins during November.
Oh! And this is my SPORE made shrimp!

November!

Good day and welcome to the closing chapter of November month, it sure has been eventful.
To let us look forward to November extra much next year: Here's all the things you can do!

November month is NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month
- Write 50, 000 words in just 30 days, the novel you've always had inside you.

NaArMaMo - National Art Making Month
- Make one piece of art every day (it's actually for August, but August\November, who cares - right?)

November is Month of the Moustache
- I do not agree, moustaches should not have a month, never, not any time of the year. But go ahead, please - grow one and REMAIN SINGLE for all I care!

NaSweKniMo - National Sweater Knitting Month
- Knit a 50, 000 stitch sweater in just 30 days, sounds familiar? Sounds fun!

NaBloPoMo - National Blog Posting Month
- Post every day in the month of November! Do this if you find it hard to get into a blogging - routine.

I also Finished my NaNoWriMo myself today. I've decided to at least remove about five to six chapters that I added purely for the word-count, and all the shit I wrote today. Maybe add perhaps one or two new ones that have to be done with more care than the previous ripped and smashed together ones.

In addition I have a word-count syndrome that will ensure long posts in the near future, but I am sure the internet will teach me how to shorten the length of my thoughts with some nifty new abbrevations.

Thank you everyone, and Good night .

NaNoWriMo - The Progress

5

They're just human

with wives and children.

So perhaps there is no wonder that people don't understand why one might set oneself a personal goal. Take NaNoWriMo for example; to win you have to write 50, 000 words in 30 days, if you win you get your name on the Winner's List, nothing more. No trophy or diploma, just the honour and glory.

People ask me why I don't just copy and paste the same chapter over and over until I have 50, 000 words, or why I don't sit on my keyboard until I have enough words. It is so easy to cheat, so why not?
Sometimes, my dear friend, it can be nice to set a goal purely for oneself, even though it is ridiculously hard to reach or perhaps even unachieveable. There doesn't have to be a prize, or an award, it is a reward enough in itself to have accomplished something. Maybe people don't understand, maybe it actually is a waste of time.

I am actually suffering on the very brink of insanity, I have the most irregular progress bar going on, every word I write, every word I see or think of, I grab it. I will take the words and put them together, force them and mash them together, even though it might be incoherent and nonsensical, something inside me has stopped caring. I have written 31, 536 words so far - and I'm lagging behind, so i am most likely not going to make it, but I still try, I'm still working on it. Still writing, gathering, grabbing, thinking, putting together, forcing and incoherently mashing.
The result of course, is wondrous! It might not be classical and priceless, beautiful literature, but all this pressure is creating something spontaneous, something creative and strange, something tipped over the edge from peculiar, something dangling alarmingly close to stupid, but still managing to balance it - most of the time. It is brilliant, not as much the novel I'm somehow "creating", but all the pressure it puts on me, all the different ways it makes me use all of my creativity, forcing it into action!

(One of my other novels is actually 47, 046 words in Norwegian, but I spent way more than just a month on that, so considering that I'm used to be able to work a bit more relaxed - I'm very screwed under these conditions).

Sparkly with icons

And also all these nice icons! whoop <3 src="http://xe5.xanga.com/f1c884000113114158736/z5213802.gif">

You will also find that 13 chapters of my NaNoWriMo Novel is out!

NaNoWriMo 2006

National Novel Writing Month 2006!

NaNoWriMo is about writing 50. 000 words in 30 days (starting November 1st) and to manage that, you have to write approximately 1667 words each day. Today (which is day three) I have written 3. 160 words, so I am lagging a bit behind, heh. The whole thing was introduced to me through Foss, thank you for that :)

Their site is experiencing some trouble, but it is a very nice project I think and you should definitely check it out.

I do intend to reach the goal of 50. 000 words, if you want to have a look at my progress, you can see it here.

Name of my novel (which is obviously quantity before quality) is "Forever Autumn", I believe you can read an excerpt on my progress profile. ZING.
